InfoChimps_prizeThe second of four fabulous Great Data Give Away prizes is now up for grabs…InfoChimps Twitter Census Data!

This is no small award, my beloved data geeks. This dataset is a corpus of tokens collected from tweets sent between March 2006 and November 2009. That’s 3 years of tweets!

A “token” is either a hashtag (#data), a URL, or an emoticon (smiley face, sad face, etc.). The full scrape consists of 35 million users, 500 million tweets, and 1 billion relationships between users. Tokens are binned by hour and month and the occurrence count of each token for each hour is given.

With the data from InfoChimps, you could correlate activity in the stock market, track the release of new movies and video games, or trail the rise in rank of Wikipedia pages on trendingtopics.org. The possibilities of ways to use this valuable data is mind-boggling!

All you need to do to enter this FREE contest is:

  • Become a Webtrends fan on Facebook (if you’re not already)
  • Click the Contest tab on the Webtrends fan page
  • Give us your name and email addy
  • Answer one little question: What will you do with the data prize if you win?
  • Click the Submit button

We’ll be contacting one very lucky data-vore sometime after March 1st to make their data-lovin’ day. But the only way to win, of course is to enter.

Go! Now! Win!
